The Queensland Transport TMR has an extensive list of requirements that must be met for a vehicle to pass a roadworthy inspection. These requirements include:
Ensuring brake pads are not worn past the manufacturer's indicator. If there is no indicator, the measurements must be at least 0.8mm thick.
No oil, grease, or brake fluid should be present on brake lining or pads.
All braking components must not be frayed, perished, corroded, misaligned, or show signs of leakage.
Filter units for air compressors or vacuum pumps should not be missing, loose, blocked, or damaged.
