Let's discuss brakes, a crucial aspect of road safety! In Queensland, brakes are a common cause for a failed roadworthy inspection. At Roadworthy 2 U, our technicians carefully inspect all braking systems during a vehicle inspections and also conduct thorough brake tests. The Queensland Transport TMR has an extensive list of requirements that must be met for a vehicle to pass a roadworthy inspection. These requirements include:

  • Ensuring brake pads are not worn past the manufacturer's indicator. If there is no indicator, the measurements must be at least 0.8mm thick.

  • No oil, grease, or brake fluid should be present on brake lining or pads.

  • All braking components must not be frayed, perished, corroded, misaligned, or show signs of leakage.

  • Filter units for air compressors or vacuum pumps should not be missing, loose, blocked, or damaged.

These are just a few of the many rules and regulations we follow at Roadworthy 2 U, as required by the Queensland Transport TMR. There are numerous other items outlined in the manual that we strictly adhere to.

Its essential to prioritize the maintenance of your brakes. Be sure to have them inspected during your regular service appointments, and don't hesitate to ask your mechanic to assess your brakes, Pay attention to any unusual noises or sensations from your brakes. Having properly functioning brakes is crucial for vehicle safety.

Did you know that in Queensland we can upgrade your Caravan or Trailer ATM (Aggregate trailer mass) through a Modification Plate ??

What is Aggregate trailer mass ??? Aggregate trailer mass (ATM) is the total maximum weight of the trailer when it's fully loaded as advised by the manufacture. It includes the weight on the towing vehicle hitch and on all wheels of the trailer / caravan when both are parked on flat ground.

This Mod Plate is engineering these days and will need to be performed at our Maryborough Qld workshop. In most cases customers travel to us and stay a little longer at one of the many tourist destinations we have to offer, with the most know, Hervey Bay the gateway to Fraser Island the most popular.

The very first step is to send a photo of the Vin Plate to 0400009024. In most cases we can estimate you upgrade options with an 95% success rate.

Bookings need to be made at least 7 days out and we don't work weekends or public holidays.

Cost will start from $550.
